Life in Eldama Ravine

It was a pretty relaxed morning, but after taking chai with the farm workers and doing some laundry, we headed into town for some supplies.

We needed to pick up some things for our trip to the Elma Barnett children's centre and some food for our dinner.
Firstly, we grabbed some rump steak from the butcher and checked out his premises.

Following this, Logan and I went into a café for chai and mandazi. Logan got a soda.

We perused the town then went into Elder Brian's clothing store for some trousers for Logan. He didn't have anything of the right size in store, but then I saw one of his workers make a mobile call and rush out of the store. A few minutes later he returned with a couple of pairs of trousers. Logan chose which ones he liked and we chose a belt - the trousers were too long and the belt too big. No worries, he measured Logan's leg and raced out of the shop again. About ten minutes later the trousers were tailored and we were ready to go. What amazing service!

  1. Well now I know where to go to get great service when it comes to clothing and adjustments! Great stuff! It's really interesting getting this window into Kenyan daily life.

Jacob will be interested to see Logan drinking Coke (such a global drink!). And looking at Logan's outfit I wonder how many people assumed he was South African today...

It sounds like gluten-free has been a bit of a challenge so far. From the looks of it, just as well you're not vegetarian as well!

    1. I loved my time in town. There is so much to see and do, but now that we are working hard each day there isn't much time to do this. Everyone wants to see us, and have us come and visit.
